PLAN THE WORK,

WORK THE PLAN

Practice goal setting and diligence this summer. The first 25 students to complete the challenge win a FUJI Grapple Backpack

READY. SET. GO.

  • 1000 PUSH-UPS

  • 1500 SIT-UPS

  • 2000 SQUATS

The contest starts on Sunday, July 1st and can go all summer long. This is meant to be a fun, interactive way for students to practice DILIGENCE and its role in reaching our goals. Here are the steps to completing the challenge:

STEP #1: SET YOUR GOAL

This is where you sit down with your parents, friends, partners, and spouses to determine your game plan. Think about what is a challenging but realistic number of each exercise to complete everyday. This is your DAILY REQUIREMENT NUMBER (DRN). Then, divide the number of repetitions required by your DRN.

Example: I have to complete 1000 push-ups and my push-up DRN is 50. Therefore, my goal end date for push-ups is 20 days after the challenge starts - July 20th.

After you find your goal end date for all three exercises. Mark it on your calendar.

STEP #2: SET YOUR PLAN

Now that you know your DRN, set a plan to complete your goal. Maybe you want to do your DRN right when you wake up. Maybe you want to split them - half in the morning and half before dinner.

Example: I like to get my work out of the way - so I do my squats and push-ups in the morning and then I save my sit-ups for before dinner.

This is an important step! Setting a plan and a specific time greatly increase your likelihood of completing your goals.

STEP #3: STICK TO IT

You planned the work. Now work the plan! Practice DILIGENCE and always complete your DRN. Don't make excuses for why you couldn't complete them. Here are some tools you can use to help keep yourself on track:

  • Fill out your fitness calendar everyday.
  • Ask a parent, friend, or partner to count them for you. Or better yet, they can do them with you!
  • Stick to your schedule. Setting times for your fitness exercises is a key tool.
  • Set a motivation device.
Example: If I didn't complete my DRN, I don't get dessert at dinner.

STEP #4: SUCCESS!

Hand in your completed calendar to a Sensei! The first 25 to complete the challenge will receive a FUJI Sports Grapple Backpack. Even if you don't finish in the first 25, you should feel good knowing that you applied yourself and met your goal.
